Limbs they lay as dead trees
Flames lick the bodies, like beasts on carrion
From the void came vengeance
Whose hand choked the fools
Crows may pluck the sinews
Mournful lulls of sad muse
My ode to kin is this slaughter
Split their limbs as they my daughter
End their days as they my son's life
Hanged high as my wife
Time will forget them for they are not stone
Flesh fades into earth
Snow buries the bone
The storms loom is endless
Weaving winter's bed
Clouds cover the valleys
Bleak, starved, and dead
Plunged from the cliff face
Meals for the wolves’ den
With joy they howl
Neck deep in dinner
Awestruck and grimaced
Face up and blood drawn
As dawn is breaking their eyes gaze at the gods
My ode to kin is this slaughter

The sunrises strong in snowblinding light

Another Album that spread its songs across some playlists of mine, but I actually never bought the album. And than I wonder why... I look them up... I realize the album is already sitting in my wishlist and simply got forgotten under all the other stuff which is piling up there. I feel a bit ashamed because Obsidian Arc is on of those album that just seem "complete" with the right amount variety... it is taking me back to the habbit of listening an album as a whole, not as its fragment.

Not gonna lie, I don't usually go in for the super composed, melodic flavor of black metal. That said, I'm thoroughly enjoying this release. Gives kinda an Old Man's Child type vibe.
